So I’m finally OK’d by the doctor to get back into sports hardcore. This morning is when I found out, so I celebrated with a 4-mile run after work today. My times are still good, so that’s a bonus. Even if I did stop at Starbucks for a drink halfway through (embarrassing). Hopefully I’ll be playing soccer in a club team within the next year or so…and maybe back in tip top shape soon enough?! PLEASE!
Just because I like EATING doesn’t mean that I like SLEEPING, RUNNING, JUMPING, CLIMBING, or DANCING!! MOST PEOPLE LIKE EATING! DO NOT CONNECT ME WITH THE RANDOM FUCKERS WHO LIKE EATING JUST BECAUSE WE ALL LIKE TO EAT!
If this mayoral race wasn’t already going to be a referendum on the DCPS leadership, it certainly is now!
Chancellor Michelle A. Rhee edged closer than ever Wednesday to saying explicitly that she’s out of here if Mayor Adrian M. Fenty loses his Sept. 14 primary contest against Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray. She told told WAMU’s Kavitha Cardoza that she has not seen in Gray the same commitment to education reform that Fenty has demonstrated. Rhee has been reluctant to talk about her future in the city under a new mayor. And Gray, for his part, says he would not decide whether to retain Rhee until he was elected. But Cardoza pressed Rhee, reminding her of past statements about the importance of parents being able to make informed decisions. “A lot of parents want to make their decision based on you,” Cardoza said. Rhee responded: “What I can tell you very clearly is I came to this city to take on this job specifically because I believed there was a really unique opportunity with this mayor and how focused he was on education. And he has not disappointed me one time in the last three years. I would not work under a mayor who was not focused on education in the same way and as dedicated to making some of the really difficult decisions.”
Am I the only person in DC that loves this woman? I mean…she’s getting results. My dad was so pissed when I told him the other two Democratic mayoral candidates were basically non-committal on keeping her. My mom, on the other hand, went ballistic. My mom is a teacher and even she agrees that DC needs Michelle Rhea.
Things I hate: people saying something stupid and then immediately following it up with “everyone’s entitled to their own opinion”. Yeah. Duh. We know. That’s why gays don’t have rights and women don’t have equal pay. Go choke on a dick.
Literally every kid in the United States played organized soccer at one point in their lives before they realized it was “too gay and boring.” So it’s not like nobody’s being exposed to it.
My favorite part of playing soccer were the free orange slices after every game. Then I realized you could just eat orange slices whenever you wanted and I quit.
My favorite part of playing hockey was the fighting, but then I realized I could punch people whenever I wanted and I quit.
Isn’t hockey basically just soccer on ice with big sticks? Gay Soccer, if you will.
I use to throw rocks at kids during a game.
I’ve seen this post a couple of times today and would just like to point out that, in the USA, I’m pretty sure soccer is more popular than hockey. Just throwing that out there. Oh, and the growth rate is bigger, too. So…who plays hockey again? Oh right…people too dumb to play soccer.
