Tell Fox News: Remove Dr. Ablow's Transphobic Article From Their Website. → change.org

shortformblog:

reallyfoxnews:

The article is a relentless, transphobic and disrespectful attack against Chaz Bono that reflect’s Fox News’ support for Dr. Ablow’s stream of heteronormative and offensive articles. Coupled with his earlier (removed) post about Bono and his tirade against J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons, Fox News has repeatedly demonstrated that they have no problem publishing and backing Ablow’s hateful words as reflective of their news organization.

Fox News has previously removed an article Ablow wrote about Bono, following criticism from blogs and other news outlets. The current article, called “Don’t Let Your Kids Watch Chaz Bono on Dancing With The Stars,”  promotes the idea that Chaz Bono is dangerous for children, likens sexual reassignment surgery to willingly amputating both of your arms or changing your species, discounts Bono’s transition as someone who “thinks she is a man,” and calls supporting transgender surgery a “tragic celebration.”

Sign our petition and tell Fox News that their continual support for Dr. Ablow - Fox News’ resident psychiatrist, is unacceptable. Transphobia should be and cannot be supported by a national news network.

If you don’t sign it, please send it around.

As we pointed out in our piece about the article, what Dr. Ablow wrote was beyond the pale. It’s a damaging article as a whole, and if you feel that it should be removed, you should probably sign this.

I think this solution is rather obvious. I just wish these bites in DC understood that.

EQMD Message: HERE WE GOOOOO!

From the desk of Governor Martin O’Malley

 Dear Name,

I hope you’ll join me at an event I am co-hosting in support of Equality Maryland on September 7, 2011.

Marylanders of all walks of life want their children to live in a loving, stable, and committed home – protected under the law.  But I cannot stress enough how important the next few months will be in achieving marriage equality in our state.

We have a strong coalition working with Equality Maryland to pass marriage equality in our state, but we need your help to build a strong grassroots organization to pass this important legislation next year.

So, I hope you’ll join me on September 7th in support of Equality Maryland’s mission to pass Marriage Equality in 2011.

Thank you,

Governor

JasenComstock: DC Drivers are the worst in the United States → jasencomstock.tumblr.com

Have you ever been driving through the city thinking to yourself “wow, these people can’t drive?”, well, turns out you were right! A yearly report done by All State ranks Washington DC as the highest accident prone area in the country. Washington…

You’ve obviously never driven in Miami. Or any place with drivers who actually suck.

My friends think it's funny that I have my parents' full names listed in my phone instead of "Mom" and "Dad".

Reasons:

  1. [Redacted Reason]
  2. I don’t call my parents “Mom” and “Dad”; I call them “Mommy” and “Daddy” or “Mami” and “Papi”. The last thing I want is someone finding my phone when I’m passed out from the party LAAAAAST FRIDAY NIGHT and calling them for some stupid reason.
  3. I CALL MY PARENTS MOMMY AND DADDY! I want the cops and other first responders to save me in a car accident, not laugh at me!
