I keep on thinking about the upcoming Holiday Season and there’s a couple things that I’ve realized: I love being with my family and I love spending my Holidays with them. I can’t wait until the season begins with Thanksgiving at the dinner table with my parents’ college friends (who have, incidentally, become family) and their children. The dinner attendees include Mom, Dad, Lorraine, Pucho, Patricia, Wally, Jorge, Me, Maia, Soli, Emilio, and sometimes other assorted guests. It seems like a lot of people, but that’s what I love most about my family: you don’t have to be blood-related to be part of the group. My family includes my cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents, and everything in-between…it also included family friends and anyone else who sits at the dinner table with us on a holiday. This Thanksgiving is the first one that I will truly appreciate. This Holiday Season appears to be the one that I really appreciate for what it’s supposed to be…a time for family and love and the little things that don’t have to change when everything else does.
